Today is the World Fairy Festival, founded by angel and faery writer Doreen Virtue. There are magical events happening around the world, with money raised going to environmental charities. Find out more at the World Fairy Festival site.
So it seems a fitting time for my friend Lucy Cavendish and me to reveal our magical new collaboration, The Book of Faery Magic. We have had the most wonderful, fun time working on this book together, and exploring the enchanted realms of the fae. And we feel honoured to have worked with some wonderful faery friends, especially gorgeous and talented artist Daniella Spinetti, who drew the most beautiful illustrations for us, and helped us in countless other ways, and American painter Jessica Galbreth, who created the beautiful cover image.
The Book of Faery Magic is rich in tradition, history, research and faery lore, with a guide to faeries from around the world, the different courts of the fae, and the sacred sites long associated with these Otherworldly beings. There are chapters on faery flowers, trees and herbs, a guide to planting your own magical garden, and how to create enchanted lotions and potions. You'll learn how to work with the fae, how to construct an altar to connect with them, and how to communicate with your own inner faery. There are magical recipes and fun crafts to make, and you will be granted the seven magical gifts of the fae...
There are also interviews with cool faery folk from around the world, including Jessica Galbreth, Juliet Marillier, Doreen Virtue, Cassandra Eason, Wendy Rule, Selina Fenech and more...
We'll be launching it at the Mind Body Spirit Festival in Sydney on May 13-16, and in Melbourne on June 11-14.
