Tuesday September 1, 2009 The new Spheres magazine is out, with a beautiful cover, and lots of interesting stories. It also has my article about Harry Potter's London – the places in the English capital that inspired JK Rowling when she was writing her magical series, and some of the places that were used in the movie. Of course there are heaps more sites throughout England – like Blenheim Palace, in Oxfordshire, with its magical tree that Juz and I climbed inside of when we visited, and Lacock Abbey, and beautiful Christchurch University in Oxford – but that's a whole nother story. I took up three pages just with the London sites, from Platform 9 3/4 and Diagon Alley to the zoo where Harry lets the python escape and the Ministry of Magic. Not to mention the beautiful city skyline, with the Houses of Parliament sillhouetted against the sunset sky, pretty bridges joining the two halves and the twinkling lights of skyscrapers and hulking cathedrals reflected in the River Thames. It's a magical, ancient city, full of history and beauty. You can find out more about Spheres magazine here, and read my story here.
