Buzz Day

Today is Buzz Day, a fund- and awareness raiser for diabetes. Mum has been diabetic since I was a kid, and has to have four needles a day, so I've always been conscious of it. And the fact that they have a little bee as their logo adds to my affection for the cause :-) I was surprised how little publicity surrounded it though, and that I had no idea it was on. So, I thought I'd post this here, as a reminder to myself for next year...
From their website: Diabetes Buzz Day is Diabetes Australia's signature day and is held across the country on the 3rd Friday in September. Diabetes Buzz Day has been running for 9 years and has now raised over $1.5 million that has supported all people affected by diabetes!
Being our biggest fundraising event for the year, throughout September and on Diabetes Buzz Day itself, Friday 18th September, we need the help from our wonderful supporters (YOU!) to ensure our bee merchandise reaches every town and city in Australia - ultimately helping us take the sting out of diabetes!
