2008 was a big, beautiful year. My first book was published, and I launched it with a story in New Idea magazine...
2008 was a big year for me, and I am grateful for every moment, both good and bad :-)
There were LOTS of highs and lows – and lots of turning lows into highs :-)
I finished writing my first book – and editing and designing it...
After two years of frustration and delay, I broke my publishing contract and put it out myself. And have never felt such a sense of accomplishment...
I couldn't have done it without the love, encouragement and support of my beautiful husband, who kept me going when I wanted to give up, was always on my side in the battles, made me endless cups of tea, shared all the triumphs, and was so proud of me it brought tears to my eyes. So more than anything I am grateful for him, and our love, and the beautiful Paradisical Realm we've created, both literally in our sweet apartment, and etherically in our own little world.
I am also grateful for the wonderful reviews, the amazing support from beautiful friends, and my mum's efforts, getting it into bookstores in WA (including Dymocks and Angus & Robertson) and selling it to everyone she meets, pretty much :-)
And after years of refusing to join Facebook, I'm grateful for the beautiful community we've created, here and on my page, and the wonderful people I've re-connected with...
I'm looking forward to 2009!
